"After offering one of the young people work experience we are delighted to be able to offer him a permanent career path and would welcome the opportunity to become involved again with Say Yes in the future"

Breakthrough Apprenticeships

The Breakthrough Apprenticeship scheme is a unique approach to helping talented young people who might be otherwise overlooked for in their search for work.
Its primary aim is to assist young people to achieve economic well-being and focus on the competencies which will accelerate their transformation from perhaps being disengaged, disappointed or exlcuded young people, into committed and valuable employees.

Breakthrough Apprenticeships can be offered as a stand alone scheme or offered as an add-on to the Say Yes Challenge, where young people can be offered the opportunity to put their newly discovered skills to the test within the workplace of participating companies.

Benefits to Businesses:

  • Offering a young person temporary paid employment or sponsoring their employment in much needed sectors of the community, e.g. charitable organisations
  • Demonstrating a commitment to corporate and social responsibility by empowering and supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Showing commitment to the continued personal development of young people who may have already demonstrated their talent through the Say Yes Challenges
  • Giving staff the opportunity to act as role models for young people in the neighbourhood
  • Gaining a potentially valuable employee

"The Apprenticeship was extremely well managed by Say Yes UK and delivered outcomes beyond our expectations. Claire has since decided to return to education and training and has exciting and ambitious plans for the future. NCCL and the Galleries of Justice have seen their work through a fresh pair of eyes and are now planning more apprenticeships for local young people"

Katy Archer, Head of National Centre for Citizenship and the Law at the Galleries of Justice.
